Kids are the best comedians because the funny things they say (and write) are so out of left field and pure. I think a book compiling all of the funny notes, stories, drawings and whatnot from kids would be a fun gift for expecting parents, teachers and anyone with a sense of humor. I can see it now, titled “Things Kids Say.” Kind of a play on “Kids Say the Darnedest Things,” who didn’t love that show? Bill Cosby was on to something when he let kids tell the punchline.
Sometimes, it’s the crazy ideas a kid has, or the accompanying drawing or even just the accidental misspelled words — it all adds to the charm. And I’m sure Chronicle Book designers will have a field day with the fun concept. Buzzfeed has made great use of notes in lists that make me laugh so hard I cry. The book is also interactive, allowing parents, grandparents and etc. to publicly declare that their kid is crazy. It could be one of those things to bring out at prom night, right after you show their date the inevitable first bath pictures.
I know I would read this book. It’s a fun way for childless people (such as myself) to enjoy kids without changing diapers.
